THE
ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT
What came first, the chicken or the egg? Although we know the answer to this famous
question, that is, the chicken came before the egg, we
can ask this question in regard to the Ecumenical Movement.
What came first, the apostate
church or the ecumenical movement? The Bible tells us that in the last days,
the church will turn away from the truth.
Another way of putting it is, the church will replace sound Biblical
doctrine with ‘feel good’ theology and ‘everyone get
along, brotherhood’ fellowship. If a
doctrine causes division, don’t teach it.
‘Brotherhood of the saints’ trumps. Doctrines like hell, sin, judgment,
condemnation, and such will be stricken from the pulpit. Everyone come and everyone get along.
We know that just before the Anti-Christ comes on the
scene, there will be a one-world currency, government, and religion. The, orthodox religions (Lutherans,
Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopal denominations) will come together with
Roman Catholicism and the Greek Orthodox Church into one religion, with world
wide ramifications. Now, a new term has
come on the horizon. Christlam,
a combining of Christianity and Islam.
Human beings are religious by nature because they are
spiritual beings. When men move away
from the Truth, they by nature move to a lie.
Man cannot live in a vacuum or religious void. He will join a false religion or make one up
himself. When the Anti-Christ comes to power, the major religions of the world
will have already come together in a common bond and brotherhood so they can
collectively accept Him.
“… when the Son of Man (Jesus) comes, will He really find faith on the
earth?" (Luke
18:8)
The implied answer to this question is no. Why do
religious men want to come together? Why this ‘Ecumenical Movement’. The answer is that God holds them to a higher
standard than they want to be held.
Rather than lifting themselves up to a Holy God through faith in Jesus
Christ, they want to bring God down to their level. They want to dictate to God what the
standards will be, and compel all who want to hide their sin to conform. Of
course, one may hear the name Jesus come up from time to time, but it won’t be
in terms referenced Him in the Bible.
“And
this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (John
3:19)
Rather than conform themselves to the Truth, it’s much
easier to live a lie, in this case, that lie being the Ecumenical Movement.
If one studies the history of the church in Europe over
the past centuries, they will find battles fought over disagreements. During the inquisition, the Roman Catholic
Church killed tens of thousands of people who refused to conform to Catholic
dogma. During the crusades, battles were
fought due to the struggles between kings and pops, each vying for dominance.
To this day, the Church of England is the ‘official’
church, with the queen at its head, in violation of Scripture. Men have been trying to pull religion
together for centuries, and will one day soon accomplish that very thing.
Those involved in the ‘Ecumenical Movement’ will one day
turn their focus away from Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and worship the
Anti-Christ, who is yet to come.

refers to the Bible only, in all instances in this work. No other source is
assumed in that phrase. The Bible is God’s
inerrant, infallible, and complete and sole Word to mankind. No other work on
earth appends too or replaces the Bible.
